Who we are and who we help
Precision Repointing and Rendering is led by Connor Cook, Director, and works from 8 Burnell Avenue, Welling, Kent. We are a specialist external-fabric firm, not a general builder who also does pointing.
Our customers are homeowners and landlords with a wall that is letting them down: mortar you can rake out with a screwdriver, render that drums when you tap it, a damp patch inside that keeps coming back, a chimney stack nobody has looked at in forty years. They want the cause fixed once, by someone who will still be reachable in five years' time.
We work on period and conservation-area property as well as inter-war and modern housing. We do not take on listed buildings, that is specialist consented work, and we would rather say so than learn on your house.
What we specialise in
Hydraulic lime repointing for solid-wall period property, brickwork repointing and repair, silicone and sand and cement render, K Rend systems installed as an approved installer, pebbledash removal and re-rendering, chimney repointing, render repair and crack remediation, and exterior damp work that treats the cause on the outside rather than the symptom inside.
Specialising narrowly changes the outcome. It means the right mortar designation for the exposure rather than one mix for everything, the correct bell casts and stop beads rather than a flush edge that dumps water down the wall, and hand-raked joints on soft brick rather than a grinder that chews the arrises.
Eighteen years of doing only this means we have seen how each of these details fails, which is a far more useful qualification than having seen it done once.
Our standards and how we work
We inspect before we price. Nobody gets a figure over the phone for a wall we have not seen, because the cost of a repointing or rendering job is driven by things you cannot judge from a photograph: joint depth, mortar hardness, substrate condition and access.
You get a fixed written price with a payment schedule spread across the project, so you are never asked for the balance before the work has earned it. Access is arranged by us and included, not added later as an extra.
We specify materials for the wall rather than for the invoice. On a solid, lime-built wall that means lime, even though cement would be quicker. On an exposed rendered elevation it means a through-coloured, self-cleaning system rather than paint that needs redoing in three years.
Every job carries a 10-year workmanship guarantee in writing and is covered by £2 million public liability insurance. We are listed on TrustATrader and we are a K Rend approved installer.
Where we work
We cover London and Kent, with most of our work across Bexley, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Dartford, Erith, Bromley, Orpington. Being based in Welling keeps us close to the properties we work on, which matters for external work that has to be scheduled around weather.

Our K Rend certification
Connor Cook holds a K Rend certificate for the application of K Rend silicone coloured renders and the use of K Bead, completed at K Rend's Centre of Excellence and issued on 7 May 2019 under certificate number K02148.
Training on a specific render system matters more than it sounds. Silicone renders are unforgiving about bead work, coat thickness and how edges are detailed, and those are exactly the details that decide whether a finish still looks right in ten years' time.
